Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains

Walsh Memorial Bell Choir Program

English handbells have been a part of the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains since 1968. More often than not, one of our four bell choirs will be featured at our Sunday morning worship service. You may also catch them performing locally, regionally, and even internationally. It is not necessary to be a member of our church to join one of the choirs.

The Grazio Bell Choir is a group of adults who love to play bells together. As a group they play regularly within the church services as well as at various venues within the communities surrounding the church. They rehearse on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm from October until May. If you have some bell playing experience and would like to join come along to one of the practices.

The Walsh Memorial Bell Choir is a Jr. and Sr. High School Choir that has a long history of high standards in bell choir ringing. The group plays regularly within worship and also performs concerts locally. See wmbcbells.org for more information.

The Dolce Bell Choir is for our beginner ringers. They are learning to read music and have no prior handbell experience. Dolce bell members must be at least in the second grade in order to participate. The Dolce bell choir rehearses after Sunday morning worship.

The newest choir in our bell program is our Loutzenheiser Legacy Choir. This group is named in honor of the long-time director of our bell programs, Carl Loutzenheiser, and is made up of alumni ringers or adult ringers with handbell experience. The Loutzenheiser Legacy choir rings on occasion throughout the year.

For more information, contact our director of bell programs, Carl Loutzenheiser.
