PCMP Growth & Connection
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. Matthew 18:20
As a church family we are committed to fostering opportunities to grow in our faith. We celebrate occasions when education brings us together with a shared purpose to study, to nurture, or simply to be jubilant (or comforted) in the fellowship of one another. Whether seasonal or steadfast we hope you find a program to connect with! For more information on any of the programs on this page please contact the church office 973-539-3481 so we can be sure to welcome you.
Joyful Noise - Daycare & Pre School since 1968
Sunday School - Offered during our Sunday worship. Children begin worship in the sanctuary, are invited to the chancel during the Children's message and leave as a group for Sunday School.
Children's Fellowship - Check out our announcements to see our latest programs and activities! We offer age appropriate Sunday youth fellowship (Elementary, Middle & High School Groups), family inclusive activities (mini golf, bowling, trips to the zoo), movie nights, & game nights.
Confirmation - Open to high school students who wish to become PCMP members. Confirmation explores what it means to be Presbyterian and offers guidance through an individual faith journey. Confirmation class is September to May. Each student is expected to attend class, Sunday Worship, a Camp Johnsonburg retreat, and perform 15 hours of community service.

That is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. Romans 1:12
Adult Book Study - A modern book study for adults offered in a hybrid format (in person and zoom). A few times a year Pastor Don facilitates a faith based discussion series on a Modern Christian book. Recent Study texts include: Great Prayers of the Old Testament by Walter Bruggemann, Putting Away Childish Things: A Tale of Modern Faith by Marcus J Borg, Naked Spirituality: A life with God in 12 Simple Words by Brian D. McLaren, & Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church by Rachel Held Evans. Additional seasonal series have focused on Lent and Advent related topics. When a series is active discussions are Tuesdays at 6pm EST and last approximately one hour.
Bookies Book Club - An adult fellowship reading group. Bookies meet the 4th Monday of every month, take a two month summer hiatus and don't read a book for the Christmas party that is often scheduled in early December. The total is 9 books a year with an average of a 90 minute discussion during our meetings. Check the Sunday bulletin for what we're reading this month. Come when you are able and participate as you feel comfortable!
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Simple Suppers - Wednesday Evenings from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week (February- March/April) in Westminster Hall. A midweek prayer and fellowship during Lent to reflect and share a meal. Traditionally we offer soup & bread. Potluck as community health allows.
Faith Friends - Our Nurture Committee pairs up youth in our congregation with empty nesters or seniors. This program hopes to foster multigenerational connection, support, and encouragement.
Meal Train - Our community lifts each other up during times of struggle or triumph. Medical troubles, new baby, death in the family? Our Nurture committee works to source those willing to cook with those overwhelmed. If you find yourself in need or in abundance and looking to help let the office know.
